What is GaugeDump?

GaugeDump is a Win32 shareware program designed to aid gauge developers for Flight Simulator 2000. GaugeDump takes an existing gauge file for Flight Simulator 2000 and creates a complete "C" project (excluding makefile) with various source files and extracts all the bitmaps contained within the gauge. With the output from GaugeDump, a panel developer can examine the drawing elements of the gauge, see the bitmaps, and have an excellent starting point for creating a new gauge based on the dumped information.

Download

Here you can download an evaluation copy of GaugeDump. The evaluation copy is limited to dumping only the first gauge in any gauge file. Registering the program will restore full functionality and let you dump all gauges in the gauge files.

Download Now (243KB)

To install GaugeDump, simply double click on the downloaded file (GD20.EXE) and specify the location to extract the GaugeDump files to. To start the program after installation, simply find the folder you chose in the above step and double-click the GaugeDump program (GaugeDump.exe). For more information, you can read the documentation online here.

Release Notes

Version 2.0 - Released to the public January 31, 2001

Known Issues

When dumping multiple gauges in the same session, the output filename will not automatically update when a new gauge file is selected in the input filename box. To avoid overwriting the previously dumped gauge source, you must change the path manually, or browse to the new location.

The documentation file in the release package and on the website mistakenly had typographical errors in two of the links. This was fixed as of February 5, 2001.

Online Payment Only

If you previously filled out the online registration form, but for whatever reason, did not complete the payment portion of the process, you can go directly to the PayPal site and purchase your copy of GaugeDump by clicking below:
